Project Overview – Collaboration
My involvement on this residential building project was to support the coordination for the building design, with all the related engineering disciplines and the detailing-execution for the core and shell. The Alden Smith House & Apartment Project is a 6-story residential apartment building located in Minneapolis Minnesota with a 113,439 g.s.f; including parking and residential amenities.
Project Description
The proposed project will include the rehabilitation of the historic house and the construction of a new 6-story multifamily building. The primary structure of the building is a precast concrete podium, with a 5-story insulated wood framing, and the exterior building materials will be brick, metal panel, fiber cement siding and burnish block.
Southeast Perspective
The 6-story building will contain 122 units with parking spaces in underground and at grade hidden parking. The existing historic home will include residential units with amenity spaces, maintaining the historic character. A new link will be used to connect the 2 buildings at ground level, while keeping a separation between the two structures
