Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota
Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is the seventh-largest children’s hospital in the nation, with its Minneapolis campus located on Chicago Avenue near downtown. To maintain its status as the regions leader in pediatric care, Children’s is embarking on its most significant campus development in its history.
Minneapolis Campus Expansion
The project includes expanding the campus to the west side of Chicago Avenue, including a new Specialty Care Center, which houses specialty clinics as well as an outpatient pharmacy and retail center. The development also includes a new parking structure. A curved glass skybridge links the new construction to the existing Hospital.
Innovating family-centered care
The existing facilities renovation, on the east side of Chicago Ave. include a new hospital entry and a seven-story addition. This expansion will offer enhanced operating rooms, a new emergency department, renovated neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, and a new cardiovascular center. The existing patient rooms are renovated to private rooms with sleep-in space for parents.
Advancing the health of children
The expansion and modernization will provide a new brand image for Children’s, establishing a cohesive campus, providing a new experience for patients and their families, expanding their healthcare services, and creating a positive social impact on Chicago Avenue and the surrounding neighborhood.
